With all the buzz around this American five piece it’s easy to be sucked in by hype and then when disappointment sets in disregard them as just a flash in the pan. Film School deserve a bit more patience than that. With ‘11:11’ being their second single from their second album, they have obviously got something going for them, or their fanbase wouldn’t be so big… right? Well kind of. ‘11:11’ is not the best choice for a single as it’s boring structure and overly out of tune for the sake of being out of tune singing is a major put off, yet they have got some serious potential as their sound at time can be rich and brooding, kind of like Brian Jonestown Massacre mixed with NYC band Calla, yet not as good or as arty, but with more guitar effects. Film School seem to be a promising band yet have a while to go before their mish-mash direction can pull itself together. Not one for the impatient.
